In which I dance the dance of joy…

Contracts are signed and I’ve been given the go-ahead to announce—and SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE—that I’ve sold my new collection of short stories to ChiZine Publications!! It’s called LITTLE DIGS and it’s slated to come out in 2019.

I AM SO EXCITED YOU GUYS!!!!! WHAT AN AWESOME CHRISTMAS GIFT!!!!

ChiZine publishes the most beautiful and dark and fascinating books, and I am thrilled to pieces that my work has found a home with them. Official press releases will come out next year, but for now here’s a little taste of what this book is all about:

“LITTLE DIGS takes us back to Athabaska, Kaintuck, Chippewa and many other counties first introduced in the World Fantasy Award-nominated collection, BLUEGRASS SYMPHONY. These new stories feature cornfield witches, raven-boys and Chanticleers; deer-hunters’ wives who once were sirens and sirens who once played football; gods who dwell in churches and parking lot groves; butchers and bears and bark-skinned dryads who are loved too much by too many desperate men.
In LITTLE DIGS, horizons stretch as long as a lone fiddle’s wail, trailer parks creak to the tune of five-string banjos, and distant hills make mandolin promises: sweet and catchy and short-lived.”

YAY YAY YAY YAY YAAAAAAYYYY!!

(PS: this photo on the right was posted on DeviantArt years ago; the artist is BreedStock. It has nothing at all to do with the collection, but definitely reflects the mood of the stories…)
