When Chad and I were in Canada in July, my cousins generously burnt us gave us about a year’s supply of entirely legal random DVDs to gorge ourselves on–and finally, after several weeks of anticipation, the packages containing said DVDs arrived in the mail today. We’ve got Spaced (three cheers for Simon Pegg!) Seasons 1 & 2 (we watched Ep.1 tonight — most excellent); Hot Fuzz; a few seasons of a show called Dead Like Me (starring Ellen Muth and Mandy Patinkin as grim reapers); about 5 seasons of an utterly lame Canadian tv show called Corner Gas (we watched Ep.1 of this one tonight, too — I must admit, I chuckled a few times, but the hokey Saskatchewan accent got really annoying by the end of the 30 mins); Randall and Hopkirk (I have a feeling it’s not the old 60s version, sadly!) which is a detective show where one of the detectives is a ghost (bring on the cheesiness…); Ideal (about a loser drug dealer in Britain–I love British tv, but fear I might hate this one); and Book Group.
Yeah. Who needs regularly-scheduled programming when there are DVDs?
