Thesis week…

I’ve taken this week off work so that I can get some serious thesis chapter writing done.
Clearly I’m doing well, considering it’s Monday morning and I’m already blogging instead of writing about nationalism in the Middle Ages. (Was there a sense of nationalism in medieval Iceland? Is it possible for early modern societies to be considered nations, or to have some semblance of national spirit? Was the French Revolution really all it was cracked up to be as a nation-building force? Does anyone care?*)

*Unfortunately, the answer to this last question is yes. My thesis supervisor, for one, really cares about my responses to the earlier questions. And a shitload of sociologists and historians have spilled gallons of ink discussing these issues, so I suppose that, yes, people care. Right. Back to it…
