John of Saintsbury’s early modern motivation for writers:"…the loyalty, zeal, and diligence of writers triumphing over sloth transmuted them to posterity" (Policraticus).Yeah. It’s still relevant.(My review is at 815 words, and is in need of a conclusion.)
