John of Saintsbury’s ‘Policraticus’

John of Saintsbury’s early modern motivation for writers:

"…the loyalty, zeal, and diligence of writers triumphing over sloth transmuted them to posterity" (Policraticus).

Yeah. It’s still relevant.
